由Ubi Soft預定2003年11月4日在北美發售推出PS2版的這款人氣動作遊戲續篇新作「波斯王子：時之沙（Prince of Persia the sands of time）」，遊戲中玩家可以選擇扮演前作中可使用偃月刀之類武器攻擊對手的Titular王子與擅長弓箭及各種格鬥技巧的Maharajah公主Farah，將被魔法匕首所釋放的時之沙再度封印，拯救世界免於滅亡的危機。
另外遊戲中當玩家使用寶劍將敵人打倒之時，便可以回收一定的「時之沙」，當每回收一定的量的時候，便可以讓量表時間暫時停頓，藉此閃避傷害或一舉突襲打倒強敵對手，玩家必須善用這種特別的設計能力，如此才能順利打倒各種邪惡的妖魔對手，獲得最後的勝利。
